Each year, a real person at Afterword calls you — not a bot, not an email — to review your plan, confirm your recipients' details, and check that nothing has changed. A human being, keeping your most important wishes current. Choose annual ($39/yr) or bi-annual check-ins ($59/yr). Heirloom plans also include an additional $99/yr safeguarding fee for physical storage. All check-in fees are refunded pro-rata if you cancel.

All packages are one-time payments. A portion of each is ring-fenced as a service delivery reserve under a service continuity agreement.
The activation portion is non-refundable once onboarding commences. A 5-business-day cooling-off period applies from signup. Annual check-in fees are refunded pro-rata on cancellation.
Plans are transferable for a 25% administration fee. Minimum age 18. This service does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Before you decide

Honest answers to hard questions

A service delivery reserve covers the future cost of executing your plan — ring-fenced separately from our operating funds. We've structured a service continuity agreement with a nominated trustee firm: in the unlikely event Afterword ceased to exist, that firm steps in to honour every outstanding plan. Your wishes are protected regardless of what happens to us.
Yes, always. You can edit, replace or add messages, letters, and wishes at any time through your account. If you want to upgrade to a higher plan or add more items, contact us and we'll arrange a top-up.
You have 5 business days from signup to cancel for a full refund — no questions asked. After the cooling-off period, the activation portion of your payment (covering onboarding and plan setup) is non-refundable. The service delivery reserve is refundable if you cancel before any items have been dispatched. Annual check-in fees are refunded pro-rata for any unused portion. We always honour your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Yes. Plans can be transferred to another person for a 25% administration fee. Contact us to arrange a transfer — we'll handle everything with discretion.
We use a dual-verification system. Your executor uploads a certified death certificate to our secure portal, and a member of our team makes a personal phone call to verify before any item is dispatched. We never act on a single notification alone — this protects your loved ones from errors and gives you complete peace of mind.
Any date you choose. You can set a specific calendar date — a birthday, wedding anniversary, graduation, Christmas — trigger on your passing, or both. Many clients set birthday letters that go out every year regardless, alongside items that only dispatch once their executor activates the plan.
Your executor can update all recipient details at the point of activation before anything is dispatched. We also review addresses during your annual check-in and confirm them again as part of our verification call before sending.
